About Baker Street Designs
The firm was started in 1984 by John Fought, CPBD. Primarily a residential design office, Baker Street Designs projects have varied from small FHA housing to multi-million dollar estate homes as well as commercial jobs. Baker Street Designs has been featured in the Orlando Sentinel's "Plan of the Week" several times in the Home Section. Baker Street Designs has earned several awards for new home design and for major renovation/additions throughout the Tampa Bay area. For ten years John was the chairman for the Concept Awards competition, a portion of the Southeast Builders Conference Aurora Awards program. In 2013 John was the Chairman of the SEBC Aurora Awards. As a frequent Parade of Homes judge across the state, John has been recognized as a consummate professional and industry leader. He is also involved in his professional society, the American Institute of Building Design as a past state director, officer and President. John is on the Board of Examiners for the NCBDC, the National Council of Building Designer Certification as well as a past Council President. The NCBDC certifies design professionals across the country through online examination which John helped develop.
In November of 2018 John was inducted into the AIBD College of Fellows in Philadelphia. The College of Fellows is AIBD's highest honor.
